Try one of these delicious pizza joints next time you are looking for dine-in or carry-out pizza, and you’ll be singing “When a moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie” for the rest of the night.
Crazy Daisies | 2032 McArthur St., Manchester
Opened by a former paralegal and Manchester native who intended the name “Crazy Daisies” to be designated for a flower shop, Crazy Daisies came to fruition instead as a brightly colored sub shop and deli across from Coffee County Central High School. In addition to hot-steamed and oven-baked sub sandwiches, inspired by the sub shops that the owner loved in her “college days,” Crazy Daisies also serves 9-inch personal pizzas. Cooked on a panini crust, diners can order pizzas with sub-inspired toppings such as chicken bacon ranch, barbecue chicken and buffalo chicken. Crazy Daisies offers a daily special, buy one get one free refreshments, with the purchase of a pizza— the perfect lunch for two people, ringing up under $10. For dessert, guests can order a piece of pecan pie or cheesecake, or a Blue Bell ice cream cone at the counter. The family-oriented restaurant is run by the owner, her husband and sons, alongside a friend from high school and other local residents.
A Tullahoma staple opened in 1973, Gondola is a family-owned restaurant with an assortment of pastas, sandwiches, steaks and pizza, inspired by classic Greek and Italian flavors. Gondola’s scratch-made dishes and pizzas have earned the restaurant the title of Tullahoma’s Finest pizza spot and Tullahoma’s Finest restaurant numerous times. Gondola serves numerous specialty homemade pizzas such as the Grecian Special, made with beef, pepperoni, onions, feta cheese and tomatoes, and the Gondola Special, made with green peppers, onions and homemade Italian sausage. Gondola also sells strombolis, calzones and gluten-free pizzas, which are available in the 10-inch size only. Gondola is located within walking distance from the Ole Shed Brewing Company, and diners can pick up a fresh Gondola pizza and take it to Ole Shed’s taproom, to be enjoyed with a hand-crafted artisan ale. The taproom is open from 4-9pm on Friday and Saturday night.
J&G Pizza and Steak House | 520 McMinnville Hwy., Manchester
A short drive from I-24, J&G is a pizza and steak house that was opened in Manchester in 1973. Voted Manchester’s Finest pizza in 2017, J&G serves salads, pasta, seafood, sandwiches, pita pockets and steaks with an Italian flair. J&G sells an assortment of handmade pizzas, including the Red Hot Pig, made with mozzarella, jalapenos, bell peppers, bacon, sausage, red onion and homemade tomato sauce. The pizzas come in 10-inch, 12-inch and 14-inch sizes, and can be cooked with an original or gluten-free crust. For those dining in at J&G, their pizza can be enjoyed with a visit to J&G’s fresh soup and salad bar.
Spinelli’s is an East coast-style pizzeria that sells dine-in, carryout and delivery pizzas. The first of the franchise in Tennessee, the inside of Spinelli’s is a bright, colorful dining area featuring a large Coffee County and Tennessee-themed mural on the wall. Spinelli’s offers an assortment of unique pizzas, including a breakfast pizza and a chicken and waffles pizzas, in addition to salads, sandwiches, strombolis, and cannolis and fried Oreos for dessert. The pizza is sold in an 18-inch size pie, or by the slice. From 11am-3pm, Spinelli’s offers a lunch special for $5.99 that includes a giant pre-made slice of pizza and a fountain drink. Spinelli’s delivers within seven miles of the restaurant, or to any Tullahoma address, until 2am during the week and 4am on the weekend. They charge a $1.50 delivery fee.
West Main Brick Oven | 111 W. Main St., Manchester
Located in an elegant but casual restaurant on the square in Manchester, West Main Brick Oven was opened in 2016 to continue the owner’s family heritage of owning pizzerias and eateries that value his Italian grandmother’s adherence to “quality, patience, and simplicity” in her food. At West Main, all the pizzas are made from scratch— with homemade sauce, Caputo flour from Naples, buffalo milk cheese, quality toppings, and cooked in a hand-crafted oven. West Main also offers homemade breads, pastas, sandwiches, and a full bar with local wine and local beer. If you are still hungry after your meal, be sure to try West Main’s homemade tiramisu, cannoli or cheesecake, accompanied by a hot drink from the espresso bar. West Main hosts live music on many weekends for dinner.
